How Does it Work?ASC’s mission is to provide you with the resources you need to make conservation minded management decisions. Alongside ASC you will work with volunteers to train them on protocols, project background and more. Anywhere on Earth that you need data from, we have outdoor enthusiasts who have volunteered to collect data for you. Simply fill in the form to tell us about your research and we will get in touch with you shortly.
How do we ensure the integrity of our data?
When you choose to work with our athletes, you will have as much opportunity as you need to develop protocols with them. We recommend that projects be limited to data collection that either:
1. Can be confirmed by an independent lab or sensor (ie. DNA evidence, air quality). 2. Can be conducted by a large group of people (ie. Trail hikers, Mountaineers above 20,000ft). What does it cost? While we encourage donations, there is no charge to work with ASC. We will design and post a website for your project and begin recruiting people through the thousands of visits we get to the website every day. Whether you get one or one thousand volunteers, you are not required to pay us anything. Using this service, we cannot guarantee any number of people will join your project though most ASC projects average between 5 and 15 volunteers per year.
If you would like us to guarantee a certain number of volunteers to work in a specific location, we are happy to provide you with a quote for the time it takes us to recruit. Please fill in the form and we will be in touch shortly. Who are our volunteers? We have access to some of the world’s best climbers, polar explorers, skiers, kayakers, bikers, and more. Our athletes are already traveling all over the world and have volunteered to help you get the data you need. You will have an opportunity to develop a protocol with your adventurer long before they set out to collect the data. Our goal is to help you get the information you need so that we can learn as much as possible about this planet and how to protect it.
