California Biodiversity Project
Collect Data On Your Next Adventure
One of the world’s 36 most biodiverse regions, California is a treasure trove of wildlife, plants, and ecosystems in need of protection. To address this, the state has set an ambitious goal with the 30×30 Plan—to conserve 30% of its lands and coastal waters by 2030.
Do you like to mountain bike, hike, backpack, trail run, or go on other adventures in California’s wild places?
Join us in making your adventures more impactful. You can collect data while doing the outdoor activities you love and help catalog the amazing biodiversity of California.
No science background needed; we’ll provide the training, tools, and support you need to make a difference.
Combine Science and Adventure
Researchers are working to understand California’s biodiversity, but they can’t cover all the ground you can.
