Estimated Start Time

Let's get an estimate of when you can start volunteering for this project.

Here is what needs to happen before you can start:

1. Complete this application (hint: you're almost done!)

2. Take a 20 to 30-minute online training (hint: you can start as soon as you submit this application)

3. We ship you project equipment after you finish that online training (could take a week to arrive after you finish training)

Binoculars are required for this project.

Adventure Scientists can loan binoculars to volunteers on a first come, first served basis. We have a limited number so we may not be able to equip everyone.

If you select no, this does not exclude you from the project. Expect an email from our team to discuss your options.

Partner Information

Adventure Scientists discourages solo adventuring
You are free to submit an application solo, but we highly encourage you to always bring at least one other person with you into the field for safety reasons. Please be aware that priority will be given to applicants who have at least one dedicated partner as an additional volunteer.

The partner(s) you list below will be emailed a separate application form to complete.

Our mission is to collect the highest-quality data for our partners. Therefore, we need to ensure that we alone train each project participant.
We have limited project equipment and a lot of trees to sample! Please send equipment back as soon as you've completed sampling.
Being a part of a commercial group does not immediately disqualify you from joining this project. If you are a member of a commercial group, guide service, etc., sampling should be taken on as a personal project rather than as part of group programming.
